Safer Drivers Course Overview:
The Safer Drivers Course aims to provide learner drivers with driving strategies such as speed management, gap selection, hazard awareness and safe following distances so students are more prepared when they drive unsupervised on their provisional licences. The course also aims to help learners identify situations that will put them at greater risk of a crash and consider strategies that will help avoid them.
The Course comprises of two modules:
Module one: Is a three hour facilitated group discussion on how to manage risks on the road. This involves a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve participants and is delivered by a facilitator.
Module two: Is a two hour in vehicle coaching session to develop low-risk driving strategies. This involves two participants and a coach, and is held in vehicles provided by the course provider (with dual controls fitted). These sessions are run on weekends and times/dates allocated when booking. This is not a conventional driving lesson and due to the vastly varying level of manual learner driver skill all module two sessions are provided in Automatic cars. This does not affect the the type of licence the learner wishes to gain, and enables both participants to get the most out of the session.
On completion of both modules (both modules must be completed within 4 weeks), a learner driver will receive a 20 hour credit in their learner driver log book.
Please note that this course can only be attended once.
The cost of the Course is $140 including GST and must be paid in full prior to the start of the course
